We are excited to announce that Art House Dallas is partnering with Art House North for their virtual 2020 Songwriter Workshop! We will be providing two and a half days of content for vocational artists, hobbyists, and tinkerers—all are welcome! Join Sara Groves and other Art House friends as we attempt to paint every side of the fruit bowl that is songwriting.

Tickets include all programming and a gift box that will arrive before the event. The first 100 people to register will receive the Art House Dallas Meditative Reader: On Becoming—a printed anthology focusing on neighborliness, beauty, justice, and creation care through articles, visual art, poetry, and prayerful reflection.
Workshop Schedule
Thursday, August 13 - Songwriters Workshop will kick off with a high-level talk on "The Role of the Artist" by Charlie Peacock, founder of Art House America, and one of our #1 exemplars!
Friday, August 14 - We will hear from artists as they share about their craft throughout the day in a live session format. They will focus on a variety of topics such as chord choice, mining your stories for songs, demo-making, and other aspects of songwriting (a summary of the talks will be available before the event). In the evening, we will share a virtual Writer-in-the-Round featuring guest artists.
Saturday, August 15 - We will hear from artists again, but we will also get into social media engagement, creative writing as a spiritual formation practice, hear from a label executive, and address other practical aspects of music-making. The Workshop will close with a concert featuring Sara Groves: Natural Habitat, live from Art House North.
All sessions will be recorded and available after the event via a password protected link, so the information will be available to you if you not are able to attend the live sessions.
